TCREA exists to provide support for the retired employees of Tulare County and their spouses.

 

To include representation of their interests subject to the County Employees Retirement Act of 1937, to provide information related to their retirement, and to promote social activities and programs that encourage strong health and welfare.

Almost from the beginning of its existence as an organization, TCREA has offered college scholarships to graduating seniors who are children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren of association members.

 

The scholarships began as a single $2,000 offered annually, but in 2000, the Board of Directors increased the amount to $3,000 to be divided between three applicants.  Then, in 2023, the Board approved $4,000 to be divided between four qualified applicants.  Over the past 36 years, TCREA has proudly given approximately $97,000 in scholarships to almost 84 recipients.
