AWARDS
TCERA awards four applicants a scholarship in the amount of $1,000 each. Applications are accepted from September 1st until April 1st of each year. Recipients are notified by May 1st and the scholarships are awarded at our May luncheon.

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS
The scholarships are available to all TCREA members in good standing, for their children, stepchildren, grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

REQUIREMENTS
Applicant must be a high school senior with a grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher and who has applied to or has been accepted to a college, university, or trade school with a minimum two-year course of study (scholarship funds issued when student has been enrolled). Completed applications must include official high school transcripts, one letter of recommendation, and a brief essay addressing the student’s academic accomplishments, extra-curricular activities, and description of any community service. Applications must be postmarked no later than April 1st.

FINAL SELECTION
Applications will be screened and ranked by an outside independent rater. Based on these recommendations, the Board of Directors will determine the award recipients.
2024 Scholarship Winners
My name is Seth Cano. I am a graduating senior at Redwood High School in Visalia. In my sophomore year, I joined the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), which is a nationwide program designed to help high school students prepare for careers in business. I became very active with the organization and competed in FBLA events at regional and state levels. I enjoy spending time with family and friends and love to hike in the Sequoias, where I have developed a love for nature.
I plan to attend the University of California - Riverside, where I will be pursuing a degree in Economics / Administrative Studies. My career goal is to work in banking.
My connection to TCREA is my step-grandfather, Gary Chambers.
My name is Jayleen Chavez. I am a graduating senior at Hanford High School, where I have been very busy. I have taken many honors and advanced courses in math and English, as well as playing clarinet in the school's marching band. I have also participated in color guard, FFA, and CSF. I enjoy drawing, playing guitar and participating in Wreaths Across America.
I plan to attend the College of the Sequoias in the Fall, where I will pursue my love of drawing and animation.
My connection to TCREA is through my father, James Chavez.
My name is Natalie Garcia and I am a graduating senior at El Diamonte High School in Visalia. During my time there, I have been a member of the performance dance team, Key Club, Book Club, CSF, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Outside of school, my family and I are active members at Grace Community Church, where I have had the opportunity to be involved in children's education and mission trips.
While at El Diamonte, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA and graduated in the top 5% of my class. I plan to attend Cal-State Long Beach in the Fall, where I will pursue a degree in Business.
My connection to TCREA is my grandfather, Art Garcia.
My name is Lilliana Galvan Rodriguez. I am a graduating senior at Hanford High School. During high school, I have become obsessed with science, especially Anatomy. Along with my academics, I have been involved in community service, volunteering at soup kitchens, Relay for Life, as well as school organizations including FFA, Multi-Cultural Club, and the Acts of Kindness Club.

In the Fall, I will be attending CSU-Monterey Bay, where I will major in Education, with the goal of teaching high school science classes. I will be a first-generation college student.
